Bio

I am an Assistant Professor in International Relations and International Security. Broadly, my research sits in the intersection of International Relations, critical security studies and Science and Technology Studies, and focuses on the design, development, and global circulation of (new) security technologies and weapons. I am specifically interested in the relationship between the development of security technology/weaponry and perspectives of militarism and the politics of risk.

I have recently been awarded a VENI grant from The Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) to study the politics of engineering lethal autonomous weapon systems and the way in which artificial intelligence and robotics are reshaping war.
